Director of Learning
Catherine is a seasoned educational leader with a wealth of experience, having previously served as Deputy Headteacher at two large Secondary Schools, including both a rural comprehensive and an inner-city Academy. Currently, she leads the Trainer Consultant team at KCA, where she spearheads the development of training courses focused on attachment awareness and trauma-informed practices within the social sector.
In her role, Catherine collaborates closely with commissioners and senior leaders across Early Years, Education, Health, and other public sector services to craft tailored learning pathways that address specific skills and knowledge gaps. With a specialization in social and emotional development, she adeptly translates cutting-edge neuroscience research into actionable strategies for practitioners and leaders alike.
Catherine's expertise extends to various training modalities, including webinars, web-tutorials, and face-to-face sessions, as well as facilitating practice-oriented discussions through network meetings and reflective tutorials. Drawing from her extensive background in pastoral leadership and pedagogy, she possesses a deep understanding of the complexities of operational leadership while driving forward strategic priorities.
Driven by a fervent dedication to mental health and wellbeing for both children and the adults in their support networks, Catherine brings a compassionate approach to her work. Within her role as Director of Learning at KCA, she leverages her extensive experience in analysing feedback and survey data to pinpoint areas of need, informing the development of effective strategic plans.
