Strengthening Connected Relationships
KCA is here to enable people to build and strengthen connected relationships, using evidence from research to improve everyday interactions, everywhere.

Five to Thrive is a way of understanding how connected relationships are fundamental to human wellbeing, helping to build resilient communities, and how we can promote these attachment bonds
Mending Hurts promotes recovery from trauma by enabling people to notice what they, or other people, do in their most effective interactions with people when they are more vulnerable or traumatized. When we notice ourselves doing something well, we become more conscious of our activity and more competent in it
Creating Connections between human beings lies at the heart of individual and community resilience, and, indeed, at the heart of KCA’s work. Our resilience mapping tools open up conversations about the network around people when they are feeling more vulnerable. This can offer insights that guide intervention and support.
Holding Together offers a systemic intervention to build resilience in the team around a child when they are more vulnerable or traumatised
This was so inspiring and fantastic. I went straight back to my team enthused to tell them all about it! Thank you

Very well delivered, messages were clear and concise, loved some of the simple anologies and phrases - like put your own oxygen mask on first, every interaction matters etc

The speaker was always clear and informative, I felt involved throughout and the chance to discuss with others on the table who had more and different experience benefited my knowledge.

Very calming approach and positive to encourage us that we can make a difference... I thought it was really important to be reminded of children who have experienced previous traumas and the effect Covid 19 may have on them.

I could listen to her all day. She is so very well informed and has a really fantastic way of delivering the material with the right blend of academics and 'on-the-ground' real life experiences.

As a mentor for a lot of children with trauma, this training has helped us as a team to form some action plans on how we can move forward to support these children and staff

The lecture by Kate Cairns was incredibly moving and thought provoking. I have taken a lot away from this, even in the 2 days since the conference. Remembering to provide empathetic responses to everyone around me, including myself, as we navigate through the current climate.

As a trained psychotherapist I am very used to working with people that are experienced unregulated states. However, I found your approach consistent with methods I use as a therapist to help people regulate themselves and think this training would be very useful for key individuals across many organisations

It has enabled me to recognise much more clearly how I can support colleagues who are experiencing secondary trauma and the role which I can have as a manager to help them.

Thank you Susan, I could listen to any information about brain development and emotional health all day long! Wish I had this training when I started out working in a school 17 years ago, it would have made a huge difference for those little 4 year olds

This is totally what we need as a service to empower our parents and improve outcomes for their children. I love how practical this training is: the examples, resources and development of a shared language. For me, personally, I need to know the 'whys' first -so this training was perfect for me! Thank you
